Yeah, I really missed pretty much the entire domain of sweet things.

The Western Public Opinion has changed so the pro-Genocide politicians are fighting to delay any meaningful action until after Israel has finished executing their Holocaust, by which point they'll switch to claiming that "we have to accept the facts on the ground that an independent Palestinian nation is not viable with just the population of the West Bank alive".

I've seen this strategy of support something bad; pivot to talk about some future meaningless act that has zero impact when the population realises how bad it really is; pivot to " it's too late now" and "lessons will be learned" when the thing is irreversible, be used countless times in Britain, though never to protect such extreme mass murderers.

As far as I can tell every single Western nation politician pushing this "solution" is from a nation still selling weapons to Israel and who totally refuse the idea of sanctions on Israel.

The whole thing reeks of a "throw it into the long grass until the public pressure blows over" strategy to give time to Israel to finish their Holocaust without getting hit by the sanctions that Western public opinion now wants.

If these were honest people rather than sociopaths they would have already gotten the ball rolling on sanctioning Israel, not talkie-talkie about, maybe, in the future, merely recognizing the statehood of the country of the people being right now Genocided by Israel, something with no inherent impact on Israel and hence not a chance in Hell from stopping or even slowing down the Israeli Holocaust.

If you want to spot the truly Evil Hypocrite Sociopath politicians, just observe who at this point when the Israeli Genocide is well beyond undeniable and has morphed into a Holocaust by Starvation, is "threatening" Israel with the possibility of some future recognition of Palestinian statehood.

Only somebody on the extremely end of the sociopath spectrum would at this point in time and whilst confronted with pictures of children dying of starvation and overwhelming evidence of the IDF executing civilians trying to get Food Aid, waffle and finger wag about thinking of, maybe, in the future, doing something which puts no pressure whatsoever on Israel.

Before Europeans discovered the sugarcane they only had the natural sweetness of things to make sweet food, the sweetest of which is sugar beet, whose sugar is lot harder to purify than that of sugar cane.

The impression I get from this wave of recent announcements about Israel including of people like the British Government and Macron (both of which keep shipping weapons to Israel, and the former even has the police arresting anti-Genocide protesters) of "we will recognize Palestine as a nation if you don't stop" is that a bunch of politicians in Western nations are activelly executing a delay strategy to avoid that under pressure from public opinion all over the World (including their own countries) Israel is the target of actual sanctions.

The whole thing reeks of the "thrown it into the long grass until it blows over" kind of political strategy for not doing what the public wanted that was incredibly common in British politics when I lived there.

History shows us that Israel always keeps on trying to eliminate those of any other ethnicities than White-Jewish in that area to steal their land (if you think this is not a "White" thing, go check how Israel has treated Black-Jews), so a two-state solution is nothing more than yet more chances in the future for Israel to finish their Holocaust if they don't finish it this time around.

The only real solution is a single, multi-religious or even non-religious state, which is not Israel and probably should not be based on anything from Israel since the very constitution of Israel makes it an Apartheid state.

We're well pass the point were the upsides of the existence of the nation of Israel as is outweigh the downsides.

I think that, since the wave of IT outsourcing in the 00s, anybody with a career in Tech who had reached the level of Senior Designer-Developer by then or was close to it was safe in their job forever, because that seriously bottlenecked the job opportunities and the Junior and Mid career levels in the West whilst in places that benefited from it, it just translated into tons of people going into Tech who had no knack for it whatsover and would otherwise never have enter the field (so whilst in some countries gifted techies were just giving up on a Tech career, in other countries the field got tons more of incompetent techies who would never good enough to become senior experts in the field), meaning ever fewer professionals reaching the Senior expertise level.

Silver lining in a very big, very dark cloud for those in the right place and time.

Now, AI plus almost all young people nowadays growing up as Tech tool users surrounded by locked-down systems rather than tool makers (if only out of need, because most Tech stuff used to need some configuring and babysitting) is just making that even worse.

I suspect Tech growth and improvement is going to pretty much grind to a halt in the next decade or two.

GoG has A TON of payment processors available to buyers, at least in Europe.

I know because I checked it yesterday following all this shit about payment processors pressuring game stores to stop carrying NSFW games, as I intend to start using a different payment processor as the one I usually use (as it turns out, one of those alternative payment processors is already integrated in the banking app of one of my bank accounts).

The difference in what can be done and the amount of work that needs to go into it between discrete digital electronics and just having a microcontroller or even microprocessor there is HUGE.

Also with microcontrollers and microprocessors most of the work moves from Electronics Engineering and circuit-design space to Software Engineering and software development, and the latter experts are easier to find plus the development cycle is way more friendly when it's just code which you can change and upload at will rather than physical circuits were simulation can only go so far before you have to actually create the physical hardware.

Even more entertaining, microcontrollers are so stupidly cheap (the most basic ones cost a few cents) that throwing in a microcontroller is almost always significantly cheaper than doing the control stuff with discrete electronics.

(For example a screen that size can be controlled by as ESP32 which if you embed it in your circuit yourself costs maybe $1 or $2, though that wouldn't be running Linux and programming it be much more low level, plus it's probably the cheapest you can go)

I actually got an EE degree back when we embedded circuits were just starting to be used so I didn't really get taught how to use them, then went for a career in software instead of electronics and came back to digital electronics years later and it's like night and day between the discrete digital electronics age and the everything is a computing device era.

Is it just me who feels that having one processing unit per display is a waste?

I mean, I get it why they did it (it's way easier to just have one SBC per-display, both on the hardware and the software sides), but if designing such a system I would still try to come up with a single board solution if only because waste gets on my nerves.

Also applies perfectly if he's a Working Class person and the viewer is Middle Class.
