The Western Public Opinion has changed so the pro-Genocide politicians are fighting to delay any meaningful action until after Israel has finished executing their Holocaust, by which point they'll switch to claiming that "we have to accept the facts on the ground that an independent Palestinian nation is not viable with just the population of the West Bank alive".
I've seen this strategy of support something bad; pivot to talk about some future meaningless act that has zero impact when the population realises how bad it really is; pivot to " it's too late now" and "lessons will be learned" when the thing is irreversible, be used countless times in Britain, though never to protect such extreme mass murderers.
