There is no chance a creationist is NOT out of their depth on this topic, or any topic related to study of the past.
There is a so called "crisis in cosmology" but it only tells us that our understanding is imperfect rather than wildly incorrect . like two methods giving differing ages, e.g. 12 vs 14 billion years.
