Holy shit, I thought you were joking.

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said at 1:53 p.m., a female, approximately 30-35 years old entered on the west side of the property parking lot. She was armed with a long rifle, wearing a trench coat and a backpack, and accompanied by a 4 or 5-year-old child. Finner said she began to fire the gun after she entered.

Finner complimented the off-duty officers on the scene, one an officer with Houston PD and the other an ATF agent, who both quickly engaged with the female suspect, returning fire.

"It could have been a lot worse," said Finner. "They stepped up and did their job."

The off-duty officers said the woman threatened to have a bomb after she was shot. Her vehicle and backpack were searched and no bomb was found. She died at the scene.

Finner said the child with the woman was hit and is in critical condition at Children's Texas.

A 57-year-old man was also shot in the leg and is being treated at the hospital.

Matress needs to be off the floor to prevent moisture from being trapped between the mattress and ground causing mildew/mold. More of an issue in humid places, but still - prop that bad boy up on some bricks or something idk

Hey OP, just in case you didn't gather this from the various other comments, in political science, Liberalism refers to a specific movement (think John Locke, social contract theory, abolishing various aristocratic privilaeges, etc) but can be applied to modern political philosophies too. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism

Liberalism in media terms often means something quite different depending where you are in the world. But, it typically refers to something like this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_liberalism. Pro-market, pro-welfare (to a limited degree), somewhat focused on individual freedoms, etc. It's a wide-ranging term and can cover anything from as far right as America's gov't to as far left as something like Sweden's.

AirBNB used to be about just renting a room in your house out to people. Before it got big it wasn't for being a multi-property short-term landord.

Actually, vrbo was more like that - vrbo was around long before airbnb and was meant to be a way to help market your short term rental or like rent your vacation house out while you werent using it.

The problem is they each fill a niche, the need for short term accommodation with privacy for a group, but its super easy to take advantage and start listing huge numbers of properties to make lots of money if youre a ~~leech~~ landlord - which is part of why we're in such a bad situation now with the housing market.

You know that, and I know that, but Trump's base certainly does not.

Saved you a click: It gives them hope because it's a young adult tiger that doesn't match any of the known tigers in the area. So they are viewing it as a sign that the population is growing.

Nimbra? He really is stupid. Nimrod was right there... Nimrata "Nimrod" Haley. Would've probably had a whole news cycle devoted to it

Especially if your company operates their wellness programs through a third-party (as they should), you are protected by HIPAA and numerous other regulations. You should make use of the mental health resources available or you are throwing away money or your own mental health due to paranoia. I use my company's EAP all the time for counseling (autism, depression, anxiety, etc) and participate in the other wellness BS for the small cash rewards I get for doing so. I have not had an issue for well over half a decade, because the company would get maaaajorly sued for prying, and is actually incapable of doing so because these services are 3rd party.

Even a tepid, liberal political system like Social Democracy would be a step in the right direction. As the post correctly states, massive wealth inequality is at the core of many societal problems. If we simply taxed the rich to make wealth more equally distributed, limiting the effects of labor exploitation somewhat, that would be a "relevant working alternative" as long as you concede that the current system "works" - which it only does by exploiting labor in the global south.
