You are a lot more advanced than "only animals". :) We dont see horses chatting on Facebook.

Sometimes humans excuse very bad behavior by saying animals are doing it, which is very silly to me. You are a human being, not a horse. The only question is, how will you use your abilities that the horse doesnt have? For good or for bad.

Humans competing with eachother is both the source of financial growth and also the destruction of the planet at the same time. If humans cant be smarter, we will get extinct, which is very fair by nature. We have everything we need to be smarter and if our greed over paper money kills us, so be it.

I laughed so much i cried when watching Idiocracy. Its just that now, we have Trump acting way worse than the characters in the movie, so Im kind of not laughing anymore at where things are going.

Its some large psy-ops where people are supposed to feel like the world is so insane and there is nothing they can do. But outside of this "social" media, there are a lot of decent, intelligent people still around who doesnt buy into all the bullshit.

Unfortunately a lot of young people will believe this is normal, since they dont know how it was before.

I have many flaws. But I do actually like who i am. Im honest, and kind. But I dont have high hopes for the future of humanity.

Im just being honest. Not sure how many people feel like I do about it. Perhaps just a handful, perhaps millions.

But yeah, im sure its selfish to just not care that much about what happens to humanity.

Im selfish in that way. I accept what happens.

I think its alright. If humanity dies out, I think we are simply not intelligent enough to live on. We built systems of capitalism and killed our planet. So be it.

You are getting downvoted but i agree with you its obvious they dont really try to hurt the US.

Even the missiles they did fire, ALL of them were intercepted by US missile defence and not a single person was hurt.

Its just to show that they hit back a little symbolically.

Its nice to see that hope in your writings, that things will improve once boomers step off. I doubt you will be correct but I like it anyway. Lets hope for that. Cheers.

I think its capitalism that is pulling societies from plenty to scarcity, because that is what the system is designed to do. We didnt have ultra capitalism in the west until the last decade or so. You can blame boomers for becoming rich in that system, or you can realize that your generation would not make a difference.

Now we are in the end game of capitalism where billionaries own it all and the world turns into the masses being monitored by technology, while having just enough to pay the bills. Because if they had enough to stop working for the billionaires, they would.

I dont think any of this has to do with boomers specifically or that they were more selfish than others. It was just the time when capitalism were booming. Now its over and your generation is late to the party... Its just natural.

Perhaps on the other side of capitalism, something more fair comes along, or maybe humanity turns into fascism for a while.

That comment got deleted by mods. You could probably make your points in a better way. No reason to try and call me things when you can just state your reasons for disagreeing... Its fine to not agree.

So the day has come. :) Which distro will be the first to have it...

Looking forward to trying this tomorrow. Anyone has tried it on their macs?

The floating window stacks looks nice, and also the OSD's. :)

I know this probably won't feel like a compete desktop environment when it comes out, but it's looking promising. I think it will feel faster and smoother then Gnome and Plasma, but that's just a guess.

This is the first thing I actually believe has a chance to hurt Google. Chat Gpt really succeeded, and it's Microsofts billions behind it. All at the same time as Google has lost its culture of innovation and has become a creepy sleezy company.

This is the real reason for companies wanting people back to the office.

All this talk about collaboration and team spirit is just the publicly given reason for wanting people back to the office.

The real reason is that now the owners of the buildings are losing money.

Cry me a river.

Another CEO for mozilla. Good or bad news?

I noticed there isnt really a car community on Lemmy, but some of you guys must be driving cars....!

Im only asking because I just leased a new Volvo XC-40 and its amazing to drive. Really, really happy every time i get into it. Also because the music system is pretty damn good and I can play deezer songs and also music from usb stick. :)

I'm enjoying this. Also Musk went out and said that he wants barriers on trade or else the Chinese companies will dominate the market.

I thought Musk would be happy, because he truly wants to save the planet doesn't he? It shouldn't matter if he or someone else makes the best electric cars then?

This is so strange to me. I guess people enjoy being ripped off and getting less and less value for their money.
