Yeah I agree. We have to wake up a bit. Real change happens outside of this place.

I didnt ask Ai before i made this comment.

Its a natural home grown comment, 100% AI free, from one of my favorite braincells.

Wait until you do the math on how many millions you are paying in tax to the state, and what you get back for it. Almost nothing gets back to you.

I think our entire way of working is completely fucked up. Trading our time here for money, working until we are exhausted. For what. Then we get old and has lost the energy of youth, at some corp desk.

Its honestly a tragedy what we spend our lives doing.

Im a man.

No we dont walk on eggshells. I walk on shoes.

Just one question to you women here. If you are trying to understand how men feel, wouldnt it be better to allow us in the community?

I dont think you will gain much insights talking about us rather than to us.

We arent smarter. Actually most people here have no voice or influence outside of their computer screen.

We can use some tech, sure. But I very much challenge the idea that we are smarter as a group than other university students.

But since a lot of us have poor social skills, we compensate by thinking we are smarter or better, when we should instead train our social skills and stop thinking like that.

Edit: You meant they dont work to access things outside of China of course.

You cant ban vpns, its easy for tech people to set up a vpn server on any server on the internet and connect to it. Wireguard for example, super simple.

Work is just trading your life energy for money because you are forced to. This was fine when it felt like that work paid off. Now, it feels like avoiding work is what actually pays off.

Americans are nuts putting so much value on working for some corp. Some of us may feel thats our purpose here, but how many feels like its pointless and it makes us sad and tired every day.

When will we ever get rid of the .95 or.99 in every price... I guess never.

Im amazed it somehow works and the consumer buys more when using this system.

I think its not a secret but its just not how HR is presented to employees. Its presented as the group where you go when you have a problems with someone. Unfortunately HR may see the person complaining as the problem if its in the companys best interest.

I have never went to HR and never will. They tend to have very fake employees in that group as well. People who act like they are friendly but they wont back you up when needed.

As a manager you have a better chance of getting what you want from HR since you are more important to the company.

They always care about us when they are losing money arent they...

Maybe, but then who will supply the answers that Ai needs?

New thunderbird available for android now. :)

It. Is. Never. Enough.

You paid hundreds of dollars for a new monitor, but it doesn't matter. More ads, more profits.

I hate it.

Alien Romulus (lemmy.today)

I just watched alien romulus and I thought it was really frustrating. What happened to the lethal face huggers and the older, experienced crew of spaceships that got paid like shit by the company?

Now they are hitting face huggers left and right with sticks, and people just get up after having one over their face.

I didn't feel like I cared about the characters. They were actually quite unlikeable. I really miss Ripley. She had enormous amount of character, strength and intelligence. What did we get in this movie? They are all super generic.

Just disappointed. How about you guys?

I guess it's just a matter of time before you subscribe to games, and you lose access when you stop paying.

Kagi Snaps (help.kagi.com)

This is not revolutionary but it saves some keystrokes when wanting to limit results to certain sites.

Personally I don't really limit anything with Kagi. It's usually just finding what I want without having to do anything.

I wish I was a billion dollar company who gets away with stuff like this. Just generally break people's systems, add spyware, lie to users, treat them like shit.

All while making even more money and my stocks keep on going up, because AI, Ai, Ai...

The bike knows my height and weight and that's about it. From that it can calculate how my body burns calories?

Every body is very different, so I don't see how any calculation can be accurate.

I can't express how much I love hetzner doing this. There is a huge market for people who just need some instances and reliable/cheap object storage to run their apps.

If you have money, you can pay the bail and get released, while poor people can't.

I don't see why people with money should get benefits in the legal system?

Is gen z intentionally refusing to change their behavior for work, or what is the reason for this?

Kind of think it's cool that they remain themselves.

Similar to America, Europe is also artificially trying to make consumers choose native cars, by making Chinese ones more expensive.
