Sounds like anxiety, possibly social or stimulation. Do you get like this in other super crowded locations that are not enclosed (think open air malls, concerts, etc.)? What about in a location that has constant background noises, but you're alone or with very few people?

Agrees completely. I don't buy a device unless I own all of it. If I can't remove their software and install my own, I don't own it, and I won't buy it. While I'm not wild about the fact that Pixels are google phones, the bootloader is unlocked.

For those wondering, SS7 is Signaling System No. 7.

Signaling System No. 7 is a set of telephony signaling protocols developed in the 1970s that is used to set up and tear down telephone calls on most parts of the global public switched telephone network.

Maybe it's time to upgrade...

Edit: Latest version, 03/93, is from March 1993.
