Oof, sorry to be the deliverer of bad news. In another thread someone suggested to reach out to the developers and ask them about the future of Linux. I couldnt really find any place to reach out though, so if you have already bought the game, you could check whether the credits might mention contact details. Having already bought the game is obviously a better foot to stand on as well, so that might help the argument.

I dont really see your point. Sure, instances can do that. But instances and its users can also not do that, and right now its just instance users arguing that we shouldnt do that.
It's ironic how the Fediverse on the one hand celebrates the fact that anyone can join and instances can all do their own things and hold their own views

Wobei man hinzufügen muss, dass ein Mangel an Wohnungen nicht notwendigerweise hohe Mieten bedeuten muss. Genossenschaften beispielsweise verfahren nach einem anderen Prinzip um Wohnraum zu verteilen. Also sogar wenn Wohnraum knapp bleiben sollte, wäre es grundsätzlich schonmal für 99,99% der Beteiligten sinnvoll zu enteignen (oder halt vergesellschaften), einfach weil die Mietpreise nicht mehr absurd wären.

Other people are not as stupid as you think. But the question between not giving it attention to challenge it and possibly giving it food to fester or not giving it attention and also not challenging it is not easily answered. Looking at the repulsive backlash, drawing attention to it was the right choice. Sure, some more people might flock there, but the vast majority strongly disapproves and now knows that kbin.social (unsurprisingly) has awful people on it as well.
There are several levels to this. First, the actual software. In the Fediverse (simply the agglomeration of software that can interact through a common protocol called Activitypub) there are several solutions that offer a Reddit like experience. Kbin and Lemmy are the ones we focus on for now. Its different software with similar goals that can interact with each other.
Now, the second level is the actual server (also called instance). There is no central Kbin or Lemmy server (although the instances that are run by the developers tend to basically become that). Instead there are a lot of servers (e.g beehaw, feddit.de, lemmy.world) that run either Lemmy or Kbin. These servers can interact with each other, because their software can, this is called federation.
This brings us to the third level, the users, you and me. I have an account on Kbin.social, because thats where i went to sign up. Kbin.social runs Kbin, so I use Kbin. Same for you. Bread2390 has a sh.itjust.works account, which runs Lemmy, as far as i know. So they are on a different server (instance) with a different software (lemmy) but we can interact just fine because of federation.
Now, all of this sounds complicated and kinda is, but in your interaction you didnt even notice that they are on a different server running different software. But if kbin.social went down, or tge software kbin would somehow turn to shit, bread2390's account would keep working just fine.
