I have a single screen with mix of widgets and app icons. I don’t use folders. I use Spotlight or App Library.

I don’t want to be woken up by a late night text. I have it turned on for ringtone for a couple people but not for text tone.

It has an attractive, familiar, easy to use interface. I like that it keeps everything I’m currently watching in the Up Next row. I can search and add shows from my phone and they will be waiting on the TV then next time I turn it on. I can set my HomePods to be the default speakers. I can use the AppleTV box without connecting my actual TV to the internet, so Samsung can’t spy on my viewing habits or show me any advertising since I never use their menus or the TV interface at all.

You’ll adjust. It will be fine. You could go back and read 10,000 posts from 6 years ago and see that all those people adjusted just fine.

Feels like there should be a better cable than one for $5/pce.

Better than what? Is the Anker cable lacking something important? Do you not think it will be durable or reliable? Do you want to buy some $1 trash cable?

Screen distance is a part of screen time which I don't use, but isn't there a toggle to turn it off?

I mean, it's a brand new feature, the "basicness" will fade with time...

All Apple apps are basic, lacking both in features and customization. That does not fade. It’s why people spend a small fortune buying third party alternatives to Apple’s default apps.
