I'm still waiting a bit to upgrade. I'm a bit busy right now and since there are chances for the upgrade to go a bit south according to some reports, I'll just deal with this later! 😅
openSUSE
The makers' choice for sysadmins, developers and desktop users.
openSUSE (IPA: oʊpənˈsuːzə) is a project that serves to promote the use of free and open-source software.
openSUSE is well known for its Linux distributions, mainly Tumbleweed, a tested rolling release, and Leap, a distribution with long-term support.
Upgraded, too. KWin Scripts apparently had a breaking change in their API, so that unfortunately killed my usual workflow.
Aside from that, the upgrade was smooth. I'm still figuring out all the places where they've tweaked things, but so far, no revolutionary changes (which is perfectly fine).
So far the main things I've noticed are:
- Wayland is actually stable
- change to keyboard layout switching (hotkey seems to actually work)
- GNOME-style "view all windows" hot corner
- Konsole settings are a bit different
So relatively minor things so far, so I'm happy. I've been on GNOME the last 6 months or so for Wayland, and coming back feels nice.
