WHEW, I was getting a bit anxious there but it was just an HR delay... got the contract and I start tomorrow!!!

Fuck me today's a bad day to have a hell of a headache though, the "how to be normal and sociable" part of my brain is QUITE atrophied after 3.5 months of funemployment and honestly 4 years of a job that became increasingly isolated and let everyone descend into being slobs 😂

I need to snap out of my NEET mode pronto. Packed lunch, when's the last time I did that?!

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago

so many hugs, good luck for tomorrow 😘

and yeah, the lock downs fucked society over 😔

It went well with my friend yesterday.

I was upfront and said that I just wanted to give him some space and he understood.

He said it's cool and there's no need to on my end.

In other news, I tried playing an online game with another friend. Never again. He's one of those guys that takes it waaaaay too seriously. Shame.

I have a confession. I love Ted Cat. I was reading and looked down and saw him sleeping leaning against my feet. He does that a lot. 🥹 And he's such a funny cheeky brave little guy, even if he is a little chonky.

spoiler

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I love how Ted Cat has found a forever home. ♥

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 9 points 2 years ago

He and Bill Cat are inseparable now

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's clearly floof, not chonk!

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago

oh, there is a lot of chonk under that floof

Ughhhh I went to a different barber than the one I went to last time and he fucked up my hair. He also scratched me with his scissors and started ripping out my hair while not even paying attention. An old lady next to me said my hair looks like "Elvis when he was in a war". I don't know what that means or if it's meant to be a compliment but that doesn't really sound like one

Half a mouse? Thank you boys, you shouldn’t have…. 🙀 🎁

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I got a dead rat gift last week. And a live mouse gift yesterday. 🎁 I know I should consider myself blessed, but I had to laugh at the look of disgust Ms black cat gave me when I told her those kinds of gifts are for outside only as I shooed her out the back door.

Thing is my boys are 95% indoor, so they found it the house.

Apparently my daycare did a "Lockdown" drill today. Got me thinking how quickly I could get down there with a cricket bat. Assuming I FLOG the SHIT out of the car (which of course, you would), reckon we could turn a 10 minute drive into 2 if I disabled all the safety systems on the car.

And that is an ABSOLUTLEY terrifying thought. How do people have kids in America!?

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 2 years ago

Lockdowns are more scary for the parents than they are for the kids. My daughter's primary school was in lockdown because a brown snake entered the yard so not all intruders are 2 legged.

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It’s a standard drill now. I suspect this is a hyperbolic comment but please do not put yourself and other peoples lives in danger by “flogging it” and then adding to the confusion at the site amongst emergency responders.

Imagine yourself as a police response unit encountering a man rushing into a daycare with a cricket bat.

Just got stood up by Microsoft. Pretty rude for a Monday morning.

I hear if they defer the meeting more than three times, it forcefully makes them attend anyway

I just saw a mouse in the garage. Furry little fuckers.

[–] Baku@aussie.zone 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Oh. Apparently there's a recall for my charger. Apparently officeworks just kinda... Forgot to attach the plastic to the internal wires and stuff, so it can just... fall off

Edit: and it took them 5 years to notice

I did another load of laundry and moved stuff to vacuum an entire room then passed out until 3/4 am. (After sleeping the whole day before that.) So tired. The little lovebug is cuddling and purring.

Man dies falling from hot air balloon in Preston. So tragic. I was thinking of getting a ticket soon too.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago

doubt he fell.

14 bucks for a coffee!!!!! I mean, it was delivered. But kid only went to sleep properly at 4am, and the mrs stole my car since hers still isnt 100% ready. Truth be told, i would have paid up to 30 bucks for the coffee, but I wasnt gonna tell Menulog that.

The last warm night of summer.. maybe. Bring on the chill! 🥶 I will regret these words in about a month or so from now.

[–] bull@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago

I found out yesterday that the 2500 point free large McCafe beverage party is over. Used to be 2500 points for any McCafe beverage so I would get a free large iced latte and my crispy chicken Caesar wrap when I'm out on the road for lunch.

Now it's 2500 points for a small or medium and 5000 points for a large.

Has been a good thing for years but sadly nothing good lasts forever.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago

Stayed up all night last night, and slept all day (it was meant to be a small nap 😭)

I'm out of it, so bamboozled and confuddled

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Fact: Sandwiches taste much better when cut on the diagonal.

[–] Llabyrinthine@aussie.zone 5 points 2 years ago

Since I was an idiot and didn’t see my shift swap was for next week, I’ve had coffee, picked up my dry cleaning, drank at least a litre of water and had some sunshine (and a very tasty coffee scroll that was more like a croissant).

There is so much more I could do… but like I want a nap now…

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago

I somewhat fixed my sleeping pattern by sleeping excessively, waking up overly early and staying up... then I spent all my energy on a drs appt and crashed. I'm now back in the pattern I was. 😑 Thanks for the dehydration nightmare, brain.

Ah crap. Ordered something through JB for delivery. Both myself and the missus are working next two days (and will be out of the house). JB didn't give the courier authority to leave. We don't drive.

How fucked are we?
