An in-depth article about the development of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 movie, which has recouped its capitalisation on Broadway, the West End and in Australia. Baz Luhrman recounts how he decided that he was not the right person to direct the stage production (a wise decision in my opinion, as his adaptation of Strictly Ballroom was not good) and producer Carmen Pavlovic talks about the tribulations the productions faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
