I hope you're feeling better.
It's so irritating when people pull this religious BS on sick people. I was diagnosed with three forms of cancer and facing surgery and an uncertain future. The number of people who told me "I'll pray for you" was shocking. Like, I need someone to do my laundry or bring me some groceries, not sit on their ass and feel bad.
I've noticed the more west you go the less considerate people become. My eastern friends really spoiled me whenever I would be sick or even just going through tough times. Now I offer to help whenever someone says they're sick and I live further in the west and people get so confused by being offered kindness which should really be the basic decency. :/
