That's a good read. Doctorow is usually a good read. It's been interesting hearing a lot of capitalists recently bringing up how "government is just the biggest business" (Muskrat) in what seems like an attempt to divert the current growing animosity toward private ownership. Reading the article, it's pretty clear the necessary gov't role in a working capitalist society.
