Kristen Ghodsee is definitely an up-and-coming historian to keep an eye on. Overall I really like her stuff, despite the fact that she does buy into the anti-Stalin paradigm a bit too much for my tastes.

Yeah, I read Red Hangover and it was pretty decent, but she seemed kinda naive in some of the early chapters; like when it came to Ukraine. It felt like she was a recovering lib still radicalizing, tbh. People should also check out her podcast AK47

It's either recovering lib syndrome/post-academic lib indoctrination hangover or it's because her publisher or editor is expecting her to engage in the anti-Stalin paradigm to a certain extent. Gotta pay that toll or otherwise you end up ostracised like Grover Furr.

I didn't know she started a podcast. Neat! Thanks for the heads-up. It must be relatively new.
