You wouldn't Fourier Transform a car
Image compression breaks down pretty badly sometimes, Lemmy uses pict-rs which in turn uses ImageMagick. There is a slight upward skew to the lines in the material as they approach the door, for whatever reason, and you can see how the loss of detail progresses with each step in compression.
Compression is a hell of a drug
It's this, is it not?
Basically, the compression is using a Fourier transform which at low resolutions will basically become an interference pattern like that.
