My last service call today was at a octogenarian’s home. While i was in the hallway restroom cutting out a toilet flange from the floor, i heard part of her conversation with her television. I also got an earful while trying to collect payment from her. She trashed 4 checks because she dated them incorrectly once, filled out the wrong amounts twice, and signed in the wrong spot once. She wholeheartedly believes trump will win, and while she thinks it wont make America any better off, she thinks that he will have a chance to publicly scourge his detractors. She said he needs revenge and doesnt care about what happens after.

She is 86. The same amount of time between return visits from Halleys Comet. And she votes. She cannot drive, cannot walk without some sort of assistance, may have some cognitive issues with the whole check filling out thing, and is apparently on deaths door, but she will be voting if she makes it long enough . So, vote , or fucking whatever.

She is 86.

It's funny how hate and rage can ruin some people and make them die before their time. Somebody on The Sopranos said that "Depression is rage turned inwards." It must have been Dr. Melfi - Tony's shrink. But hate and rage are weird. Some people can feed off them. I wouldn't be surprised if service call lady is such a person and she managed to give herself a few months of life (or even more) just by wanting and waiting for Trump to make other people suffer.

Absolutely. Hate buoys some the same way love buoys others. Shit puts an honest to god spring in their step.

If Trump loses - I wonder if her health and her mental ability will suddenly start to crash like an addicted suddenly and permanently deprived of their drug.

I was thinking of something similar to this and wondering.

Honestly, if politicians would go back to shooting each other over matters of honor, life would at least be more entertaining

On a pragmatic level, the GOP should welcome having a second viable candidate just because it allows the machine to have a chance of not imploding if Trump has a campaign-ending health crisis, wether it's lead or cholesterol. Even if she has one delegate, then they can say "we have an established process and can use it to select a candidate" and avoid tearing the place apart on live TV.

The GOP's full cult turn must be incredibly frustrating to people who had long-term ambitions. The guy who's a first-term state house rep hoping to get to Congress or Governor one day-- what is there in the party that's not being unbolted to throw on the altar of Trump? Will the brand have any value left after 2024? Will they even have the raw mechanics left if they've ripped out their staff and organization?
