Maybe there's an area of subjectivity in this that I'm not so familiar with, but my perception of Breaking Points in general is that it's both news and commentary. All newscasters have opinions and biases, I think they're just up front with theirs rather than attempting to delude themselves and/or the public into believing them absent of any. I'd also contend that critique of said events is an aspect of news, otherwise all news would sound like a NOAA broadcast.
