They've left quite a few of the hard decisions for the future regulator to make, such as which services it will regulate (could it apply to lemmy.ca? How big would the fediverse have to get before they felt it necessary?) and exactly which design features will be required to "mitigate the risks" and "protect the children" other than basic flagging, blocking, and doing a lot of paperwork.

Not to worry though, I'm sure the Digital Safety Office will be run with all the wisdom and grace we've come to expect from institutions such as the CRTC.
