During the pandemic I stripped this to a bare shell, Welded it and replaced some panels, rebuilt the engine and painted it. Here is the result. I also have a yellow T2 that I did after...

wow nice, thanks! how difficult was it to anodize the metal bits? what did you use to make it look gold/bronze? really cool idea.

are you going to build out the inside to do road trips/van dwelling?

I like it!

I had a 1973 (?) vw bus when I was stationed in (the Former West) Germany. It was ex-Bundeswehr, OD green with rifle mounts and the gasoline heater/bomb. I did lots of weekending in it but never tried to convert it.

Also had a 1972 standard beetle back in the US. Might be in my blood, dad tells me I was conceived in the back of one of those single-cab pickup versions in 1965. :-)

omg those old bundeswehr vans are worth a small fortune now, the prices on all these old VWs have gone absolutely insane in the last decade!
