"Look, I understand you say you are trying but have you just tried not hitting every single banana peel? Everybody has to deal with avoiding banana peels so you aren't special, here let me give you a suggestion when I want to avoid the banana peels I simply just drive around them, hope that helps :)"

"Maybe you just need to try harder at driving around them? "

"Have you tried making a checklist of bananas so you don't hit them?"

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Y’all are making me lose it while I wait for my haircut. I’m getting weird looks.

"Look, we could just take away most of the banana peels very easily, but it is (literally) a slippery slope accommodating people and where do we stop? If we take away the banana peels, what do we then take away the cannons that randomly fire at drivers from the side of the track for no reason? sigh We have to be realistic and it is much better for all of us to simply treat the completely unrelated and arbitrary skill of avoiding banana peels as the prime indicator of kart racing ability and if for some reason you are an an amazing kart driver but can't avoid banana peels to save your life (are you colorblind? oops!) well sorry but life isn't fair and there is nothing we can do (even though we create and maintain the conditions of the entire problem). Have you tried mindfulness meditating?"

looks at sea of yellow where track is supposed to be ... ಠ_ಠ

Have you tried not being colorblind to yellow?

Friends don't let friends drive with tilt controls accidentally enabled. Pause the game and press Y to turn them off.

Me out of Vyvanse discovering about nationwide shortage just now: "My Y button is broke!"

I know this is a joke and whatnot but I've actually had this happen in certain video games.

I know that is a joke but yes.

I've had games where a boss only ever used their strongest attack. It was an attack that covered the entire stage and couldn't be blocked or dodged. The boss would only use this one attack despite it being a rare attack. Killed me every time.

Then my friend comes over and tries to fight the boss and it doesn't use that attack a single time and my friend beats it first try.

That was the last time I ever played that game.

When RNG says hold my beer.

There is sometimes I’ll settle in for a long grind night. Enemy has 1% to spawn, 1/1000 drop chance for the item, and it drops first try. It’s like okay.

There is no pity timer IRL

[–] SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Eh just got take it in stride, sometimes you get lucky, other times you get AoE stunlocked to death on your max lvl hardcore character.

Everyone isn't playing with an inverted left-right axis!?

[–] Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago

That's not a very good comparison, the inverted axis is something you can actually learn and adjust to, in a one-and-done fashion, and it stops bothering you after.

At that point I wouldn't even want to know. I already lived with it my whole life, I've adapted to living with it, knowing isn't gonna help me in any positive way really at this point
