Fani Willis is the district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia. It's not in debate that she has been fucking her handpicked Trump prosecutor for years. He said in a sworn affidavit that their relationship started in 2022. But a witness testified their relationship started three years earlier in 2019.

Fani Willis - Wikipedia

2020 election influence investigation

On February 10, 2021, Willis launched a criminal investigation into Donald Trump's attempts to influence Georgia election officials...

A February 2024 court filing in the case revealed that Willis was in a personal relationship with Nathan Wade – the lawyer whom Willis appointed in November 2021 to lead the prosecution – according to an affidavit by Wade. The filing was made in response to an allegation of a conflict of interest and improper romantic relationship from a defendant in the racketeering case, which Willis has denied. According to the filing, Willis and Wade began their relationship in 2022, after Wade's hiring.

This was contradicted by Robin Bryant-Yeartie, a former close friend and co-worker of Willis, who testified that Willis and Wade were in a relationship since 2019.

If I had a position of authority and a career based on it I would simply not do anything suspicious or against the rules

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

For these people that's the whole point of authority though!

Mad respect for my horny government lawyer. Ya'll stay hating.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

LITERALLY the dumbest shit, who cares who she fucks?

It's pure coincidence but right now she's testifying in court and she sounds really pissed! I don't know the context since I just started watching. This is awesome!

Edit

She seems like she's losing her cool which is a real rookie mistake. I have to wonder if she and her boyfriend have been lying. If so - she fucked herself and it surely puts the case in jeopardy.

Why would it put the case in (legal) jeopardy? They'll just get a different prosecutor.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

I'm no legal expert but if Willis is lying - it seems to me the case could be thrown out.

In a less serious situation - a talking head said If Willis refuses to step down but the judge removes her from the case - he chooses her replacement. In my opinion - that will throw the prosecution's case into chaos. I don't think the judge would choose somebody already involved in Willis's office due to the taint of impropriety. And a brand new person has to catch up on an enormous amount of material in this case which is one of the most important in history.

I remember reading that the accusation isn't that she is effing a subordinate contractor, but that the negotiated rate of compensation is "excessive" and they have been expensing their fancy, expensive dates as business meetings.

which like, it's super easy to not abuse one's position to do this. like just use your awesome Big Deal salaries and pay for your shit out of pocket to avoid the appearance. Goddam. fuckin prosecutors really are cops with this whole "act with impunity" and then get real pissed when you get caught and made an example of because you were doing the dirt while literally in the spotlight.

it's like how a cop can agg assault broke minorities, but when they get caught doing it to a famous minority on camera and they get cut loose by the machine, they act stunned.

91 indictments and not a single conviction.

I guess its because he's just so slippery and not because these prosecutors are all funny-clown-hammer

91 indictments and not a single conviction.

Wow that's very impressive. Maybe he'll just never have to stand trial for some reason.

I don’t remember if it was a Lemmy lib or someone on hexbear, but they were very adamant on defending this trial as The Trial to End All Trump Presidencies. I wonder where he’s at now.

Comedy aside, I don’t get it. These people swerve around the truth and creatively explain evidence, but they couldn’t just not disclose anything?

If I was having sex with my boss I would simply not say anything.

This was contradicted by Robin Bryant-Yeartie, a former close friend and co-worker of Willis, who testified that Willis and Wade were in a relationship since 2019.

Oh never mind lol. If I was having sex with my boss, I would simply not tell my friends.

There's also some money issues. The fact they were fucking makes this look really bad.

Georgia misconduct hearing live: Attorneys question Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis in Fulton County misconduct hearing - ABC7 Chicago

Merchant has alleged that Willis personally profited from the case, paying Wade more than $650,000 for his work and then benefiting when Wade used his earnings to pay for vacations the pair took together.

It's way too early to make predictions but my Spidey sense is still telling me the trial is in serious jeopardy. But Merchant might be lying and I could be all wrong.

I like how the democrats’ most capable defenders of democracy are a senile old man who gently criticizes genocide in private, and a couple of lawyers who will fumble the prosecution of The Cheeto because they’re too horny and greedy

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

gently criticizes genocide in private

"C'mon, Bibi - you've had your fun. Couldja wind it down? At least a little?"

fumble the prosecution of The Cheeto because they’re too horny and greedy

That's hilarious but fucking tragic as well. What a timeline we are in.

didn't the 2000 mules people also admit they had no evidence for any of their claims or something? Or was that a different trial?

the folks that made the "2000 mules" documentary. Pretty sure Dinesh D'Souza was one of the people involved.
