No time to laugh, in the middle of a robot rave fighting for my life.

I was running cluster mine, mortar, gat turret, and auto-cannon for awhile.

I had more deaths to FF than bugs. Armored bugs, spawn holes, even giant bugs a mile away? No problem.

A couple little guys 3 feet away? If I don't explode myself via autocannon, run into the mine field, or get blasted by the gatling gun, I have 2 seconds to get away from the corpse before the mortar shells land.

The gatling was mostly a newb trap in HD1. it was even worse since the game was 2d so the only way to avoid it was to go prone.

They need to tone down the spawn rates for bots makes no sense for them to spawn at the same rate as bugs when they can beam you from a mile away

The shield pack helps a great deal with that. You can soak at least one rocket. Plus explosion resistance armor, and just hiding in cover and sniping them. I just unlocked the UAV booster and it helps a great deal bc you can see them from further away on your radar. Last night a teammate with the scout armor perk was using it to check our path for patrols as we advanced and that helped a lot, too. I also like the EMS mortar because the static field really fucks up the bots. And the Liberator Penetrator is really strong against them in open terrain because you can damage the lights and mediums from any angle and it's precise enough to dome the AT-ST pilots.
