My guess is that they just show up in your subscribed feed

Pretty sure this is it. I got confused one day thinking communities I don't follow were showing up in "subscribed" but then I realized they were all posts by people I follow.

Had to unfollow a couple of prolific posters to get it looking right.

@ernest can we get some clarity on this? I was thinking I might use kbin to replace my mastodon account but if there’s no view for seeing microblogs from people I follow I’m not sure if that’s possible.
