TNG s2e18 "Up the Long Ladder"
An impressively awful episode, even for season 2.
Yeah, I've yet to revisit it on my current scattered run through. Currently struggling my way through s6e13 "Aquiel" where Geordi fawns over a woman's personal logs.
Well it's better than the episode where Riker is injected with Clip Show poison and the doctor figures out that the cure is MORE CLIPS.
And don't forget the very special episode where space Africans board the enterprise to steal a white woman.

And life originated on an asteroid from deep space... What's your point?
But mashed potatoes did not.
And there is nothing more American than a jalapeño. Because chilies originated here also. Think of all those cultures known for piquant cuisine: India, Thailand, Vietnam, southern China – none of them had that element before 1492.
Idk about anyone else but I think mashed potatoes with cilantro, lime, tomato, and onion would be disgusting.
That's basically what you get in a breakfast burrito or huevos rancheros. Potatoes are pretty neutral so if it matches the rest of the meal, not bad at all. I put hot sauce and salsa on basically everything so it would be fine with me.
Yeah like that list might not be the first things I think of incorporating into mashed potatoes, but also don't think it would be offensive or anything.
Come to think of it, I've seen picante sauce in baked potato fixin' bars.
What's good and what people think is normal for certain foods is in a large part cultural context and habit. If people weren't used to it, I doubt if someone saying "you know, what these fried potatoes need is a lacto-fermented tomato sauce with onion, garlic, spices and vinegar" would sound appetizing.
Or is Guacamole just Mexican mashed potatoes?
Wouldn't it be Peruvian?
One flaw in this theory is that guacamole is a condiment vs a side dish.
Anything's a side dish if you're hungry enough.

Actually the research has already been carried out and the results look good
That makes sense to me. I bet it would be a lot like guac if you added oil and more seasonings. It's not like an avocado really tastes like much of anything by itself.
There are some good things you can do with potatoes and avocado
for example, you can eat them.
