Saved you a click:

9 - Amazon

8 - Walmart

7 - Pharmaceutical Companies

6 - Health Insurance

5 - Landlords

4 - Defense Contractors

3 - Fox News

2 - Internet Service Providers

1 - EA Games

And yup. Only 4 in that list are actual companies.

#7, 6, 5, 4, and 2.

It's cracked.com. I'm just impressed they got the numbers in the right order

Hasn’t been for years. They did a mass layoff of their staff writers 6 years ago, gutting all their talent to save money.

I’m with you, but I’m also on Lemmy. I wonder what the data says about what non-tech people feel about those two companies. Google especially had a lot of good will not that long ago.

Not long ago in a normal sense, but it was an eternity ago in the tech world.

Yeah exactly. Most people don’t live “in the tech world”. Maybe people like you and I have moved on faster than the general public. I doubt most people are reading about controversial Chrome tracking changes and YouTube disabling ad blockers. But maybe they are? I remain genuinely uncertain.
