Fuck that, just get rid of the chair and sit on the floor.
Or if he wants to get fancy, get a mini-fridge to put the TV on. Then he also has somewhere to put the beer.
Just pile up some old pizza boxes for a stand.
Maybe he sit on the chair head down.
No need for milk crates, just take out all of the beer and use the carton as the stand then lean the TV against the wall. Put the chair in its lowest setting and you're good
If the carton is too flimsy, down a couple beers and put them in the carton standing up on both sides

I am not a man but the chair is unnecessary and possible health hazard to your neck as you’ll be looking down to stare at tv. I suggest getting an air mattress instead.

If he's committed to the chair, it's going to be rolling around with the slightest movement when it's just on a wooden floor like that. He should put a tasteful towel underneath it to add some friction.
Given the context, you probably meant "tasteful towel" quite literally, but I enjoy the thought of referring to all carpets as tasteful towels. 🙃
If you get a mini fridge you can put the TV on top thus solving the neck strain issue. It will also allow you to keep refreshments close and cold, thus solving the beer problem. No need to thank me.

Oh man, I forgot about those days. When I got my first apartment it was a real wakeup call for how many things I had always taken for granted. Even just little things that you never had to think about before. Clothes hangers, clothing irons, wash cloths, spoons! All of those have to be purchased. I made a TV stand out of cinder blocks and a board, and then I realized I didn't even have a TV. I bought a cat piss couch for $35 and rented a rug doctor to clean it. I found a dining room table and chairs in an alley and carried them 2 blocks home and washed them off with the hose outside. I had no electronic entertainment, and this was before smart phones, so I would sit at my table that I found in the alley, drink beer, and solve a 1000 piece puzzle. It didn't really matter much, because I was all about socializing and partying back then. I rarely spent time at home alone. Those first few adult years are pretty cool, in a desperate and inventive sort of way.

Belgian/Blue Moon is OK, you can't really win with American beer brands, but I'd think the occasion would call for something more special, a local craft or import.
Needs a few more blue moon cases to prop the TV up. Otherwise 8/10
