If he was on the clock, the videos belonged to the company. That he was earning what he thought he should be and putting in so much work, that's on him.
The videos may belong to the company, but he's under no obligation to share his personal google drive with the company. It's pure negligence on the part of the company to not have copied the assets to their own drive.
