"I am a shitty human being therefore being shitty must be human nature."

Top logic there lmao. Fucking darwin awards material.

This kind of thinking is what you get when people are unnaturally alienated from the rest of their species by capitalism. They aren't a part of anything greater. Only themselves matter. This is why you see this rabid selfishness where even parents sell the next generation for a quick buck. It's species suicide by greed and It's really sad to see. Hopefully, it can be stopped before it offs the entire species or humans will be a footnote reading "Extinct: Too stupid to work together to ensure the continuation of their species."

"Do you feel like your food is unnaturally abundant and therefore your desire to eat it can betray you?"

"Sure"

"Do you feel like your software development job has you more ~~sedimentary~~ secretary than the millions of years of ancestors that came become you?"

"I suppose "

"Do you think the contrived , artificial society that we live in has undermined your ability to cooperate like your ancestors did for millions of years?"

"No, I'm simply doing human nature "

If humans are selfish, then why big brain and big noticing other people's reactions?

"Do you feel like your software development job has you more sedimentary than the millions of years of ancestors that came become you?"

This typo rocks.

...I'll see myself out.

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Why do you think some people become... this when alienated? I feel very isolated and lonely under capitalism, but would never do something so evil. And maybe they wouldn't either but... I don't know. I just don't understand how a person becomes like this.

No I haven't read theory

spoilerhuman nature

have to take a nap before I actually think about it

It’s groupthink and ideology

A little of column A and a little of column B

From what i can find, this person posts on Ancap, lives in San Fransisco, and is a senior software engineer. Also got scammed by an obvious mlm scheme. Into the barbara-pit he goes.

Very critical support for taking this guys money.

[–] oregoncom@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

a sociopathic bazinga? now way! who could've possibly known.

No. Let him cook. He can be the People’s Jester that you let out the basement whenever you a situation becomes tense

I like to read Blind, even though it gives me psychic damage. This is a major type of guy on there

[–] WIIHAPPYFEW@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

This guy has probably personally run the last dedicated lesbian bars in the metro area out of business to host ethereum mining rigs inside.

Said rigs have not been checked on since mid-2022. One of them burned its building to the ground and got melted into the floor. Another has been bricked for months (which he is well aware of, but insists that once Nvidia stock rises high enough he’ll afford to upgrade the entire array to take up BOTH floors)

[–] StellarTabi@hexbear.net 47 points 2 years ago (2 children)

For example for a software developer - a Senior SWE in the USA can make 150k-500k depending on location and company.

I am a little tired of EXAMPLE JOB being "software developer" when discussing economic conditions. How about "lumberyard worker", or "salad guy at the restaurant" instead for truly assessing how affordable housing should be?

totally agree, not only are some of these salaries only for crazy places like California, but it feels very dehumanizing to people of other careers.

[–] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We probably already have some kind of techno-feudalist caste system that we haven’t put words to yet

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

They’re called PMC KKKarens

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago

Also, if the demographic you're using as example for income contains people who makes more that three times what other members of that demographic makes, then what exactly does you example illustrate?

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 45 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I prefer them when they're mask-off like this. It reminds me we're right about them, and it gives insights into certain things I didn't even think of. I had never considered that their "it's human nature" argument was copium for the moral guilt.

It makes a lot more sense when you add my to the sentence when they say "capitalism is inevitable because of my human nature"

They're literally just doing the thing where they assume everybody else is as bad of a person as they are but they use that belief as an excuse to justify their actions.

"I don't feel empathy, so that obviously means that no one else does either. Updoots on the left, like and subscribe."

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 43 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Looks like someone tried to respond, and the mods removed the response but left murk's comment up. Fascism is civil enough to stay though.

Reddit moment

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 42 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This freak belongs in an unethical zoo. One where I can throw things at the animals until they do tricks. I would make this one do tricks for me until it dies.

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Gonna beat him with frisbees.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 24 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Why's it sleeping? I paid good money to get into this discount zoo. I don't want to watch it sleep. If I throw enough cigarettes and rocks at it, maybe it will make noises instead.

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago

Gonna be fed a healthy diet of stale french fries and warm flat beer. That'll keep it going.

frothingfash: "Humans are evil by nature..."

josus-stalin: "That's true, so we should suppress our vices, right?"

frothingfash: "Therefore we should all embrace our evil nature because like....nothing matters man! Let's all go extinct because YOLO!"

stalin-gun-1 stalin-gun-2: "Sorry, just embracing my human nature."

This is a perfect example of zen fascism as Matt describes it.

I know someone like this IRL. Told me he took molly, became enlightened, and now he just doesn’t really care about anything and prefers the “blue pill” because he gets to enjoy his treats without needing to feel bad or worry about anything since there’s nothing you can do to change anything.

Someone said this a few years ago on here. But it reminds me of American evangelicals. Or maybe American Christians in general. They’ll preach about love and respect and helping the needy. But then when it comes to it, they’ll refuse to do so and their reasoning is nihilism lol. God truly is dead

[–] Tankiedesantski@hexbear.net 39 points 2 years ago

The funny thing is that reddit neo liberals are probably mostly in heaps of debt and have negative net worth.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 35 points 2 years ago

It's human nature to seize upon a unique socioeconomic circumstance of the last century to justify a human nature argument for being a myopic sociopath shithead. I hope you can see that and my giant brain isn't getting in the way.

[–] JohnBrownNote@hexbear.net 33 points 2 years ago

barbara-pit is too good for this guy

People like this guy is the reason gulags were invented. It's the humane and sensible solution.

I'll leave it to you to decide whether I think of cold war propaganda gulags or actually existing gulags.

[–] ComRed2@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago

We all know what he REALLY means is that HE'S allowed to be a shitty person to enrich himself, but if someone else enriches themselves at HIS expense, then that's an injustice that needs to be stopped.

who-did-this “We all know we’d exploit someone given the chance”

[–] Kaplya@hexbear.net 21 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Honestly this is not even remotely approaching the true perils of neoliberalism. The poster is just evil, but a true believer of neoliberalism is so much more.

The true disciple of neoliberalism believes that free market is above sanctity and it must be protected at all cost, with the involvement of the state apparatus, even if it means that millions of people will die and even more impoverished in the process, because ultimately the free market is the only way that can bring about an optimized prosperity to the world’s population.

Note the difference from Austrian school libertarians, who believe that the state/government should stay out of interfering with the free market. Chicago school neoclassicals believe that the state should be fully involved in protecting the free market, with military, economic and financial warfares, and propping up anti-labor policies around the world to ensure that the sanctity of the free market is well protected.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I mean "the world is going to burn because it's full of stupid selfish assholes like me" is the most honest thing I've ever seen a neoliberal say to their credit

[–] 420blazeit69@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Shit like this is good for showing to persuadable libs and asking "you think this person should have a say in how we run the country?"

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

In my experience it would be something like "he shouldn't be so selfish but also he isn't wrong"

[–] Des@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

truly artful

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

I’m a neoliberal, I’ll kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die

[–] anaesidemus@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

I'd say this is far from human nature

There should be a system where if you post sociopathic shit like this on the Internet, you should have a big buzzer sound off in your computer and the Halo multiplayer announcer voice should announce that you've lost social credit
