Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

I was getting a little choked up just thinking about it while reading the description of a day in the life at prison in this article and imagining Trump being subjected to it.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 23 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I hope you all join me in a coast-to-coast block party. I sure as shit will be planting a union-made flag (something I never do) in my front yard, playing some music and celebrating out front.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Which coasts? Because half the world will join in the celebration. And I'll join in from Europe.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Both of them. It's middle America that would be wailing and gnashing their teeth, but fortunately there's more cornfields and wheat there than people.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

At this point I expect them to reinterpret the Electoral College as saying each corn kernel gets a vote.

[–] medgremlin@midwest.social 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Minnesotan chiming in here, I will be making cupcakes and cocktails for the occasion.

[–] littlebluespark@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wait. There are cupcake cocktails in this timeline?

[–] medgremlin@midwest.social 2 points 2 years ago

Well, I suppose you could make a boozy milkshake with cake batter ice cream or something.

[–] MagicShel@programming.dev 7 points 2 years ago

I've got mariachi bands on speed dial and gallons of popcorn just waiting.

[–] DigitalTraveler42@lemmy.world 45 points 2 years ago (7 children)

6'3"? Lol hell nah he was shorter than Barry O. (6') and Trump's lil bitch ass was wearing lifts:

[–] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago (2 children)

He is the shortest guy in that photo. Look at the eye level of trump and Obama. He even fluffs his comb over to get an inch.

[–] littlebluespark@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Everybody standing there, trying not to breathe another whiff of his swamp ass, and Melania's grown immune over the years.

[–] whome@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 years ago

Biden and pence are standing one step higher

[–] Art3sian@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

I’m exactly 6’1”, measured barefoot against a wall. I’ve been the same height forever.

I stood next to a Madame Tussauds wax replica of Trump in Amsterdam and I was easily 2 inches taller than it. I was wearing Connies. It was in lifted healed boots.

There is no way Trump is 6’3” as he claims. None. On his best day, barefoot, the dude is scraping 6 feet but I’d bet my last dollar he’s closer to 5’11”.

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

While I’m sure the hair was more realistic, I’m not sure Madam Tussauds is the most accurate source for trumps height.

He’s probably 6’, but only when his diaper is empty and not weighing him down.

[–] Art3sian@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I’m pretty sure Madame Tussauds claim to fame is its anatomically correct dimensions of its statues.

That gigantic red tie looks ridiculous.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

Right!? I just wrote the same thing. I'm dancing in the street and putting a union-made American flag up.

[–] EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 38 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's gonna be a clusterfuck. It's also gonna be a clusterfuck if he doesn't go to jail.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

If it hasn't already, American democracy unequivocally fails if he doesn't go to jail.

First in spirit, as an insurrectionist is allowed to even run for president in the actual general election as a free man, for control of the country he attempted to incite inept goons to overthrew. And then systems tangibly collapses if he actually wins.

And then MAYBE it gets challenged and fails if he does go to jail and his cultists freak out for daddy and the churches all start handing out pipe bombs to their parishioners.

One's a certainty though, the other is a big maybe depending on them competently organizing and firmly crossing that line, which they'll haven't yet, in actual numbers.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 34 points 2 years ago

Well first of all, we will need to build a large fire since hell just froze over.

[–] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 25 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Send him to that horrible Arizona outdoor prison Arpaio made, where he has to wear pink and have no comforts

[–] Diplomjodler@feddit.de 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

But that's only for poor people!

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

As much debt he has and if the federal authorities actually confiscated his illicitly obtained wealth he'd be flat broke.

[–] Texas_Hangover@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

That's a county jail.

[–] Diplomjodler@feddit.de 22 points 2 years ago (2 children)

There will be convoys of lifted trucks full of AR-15 waving yokels. They'll get to a roadblock somewhere on the way to Washington. Most likely they'll just head back home meekly after being given a talking to. You must remember that these people are all cowards at heart. They only feel strong as part of a mob when they have some easy victims to pick on. Maybe there will be a shootout but it will be over quickly and there's no doubt about the result.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Maybe even more than the twelve or so that went south to the border

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Somewhere in this equation, they'll also start to fight each other after accusing part of their group of being "Seekret Anteefah Spyes!!!!" And one or more of them will literally shoot themselves in the foot.

[–] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 2 years ago

I suppose his skin fades back to a pasty white and we see what kind of creature his hair really is

[–] Nomad 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Priaon for rich people is usually house arrest or low security resort prison. In trumps case I would wager he will get house arrest to mar-a-lago und golf out hia days with all kinds of political friends dropping by all the time kissing his ass.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You forgot to mention his friends will also be buying state secrets from the hidden room.

On behalf of Colorado I'm calling dibs. We've got a nice spot at ADX Florence set aside for him.

[–] squiblet@kbin.social 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I’m we can’t get that, could we at least get some photos of him without the stupid orange crap on his face? It’s so ridiculous that manly men, salt of the earth, toxic masculinity people who wouldn’t be caught dead with makeup on worship this guy who wouldn’t dream of leaving the house without smearing his face in bronzer.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Be careful what you wish for.

[–] squiblet@kbin.social 6 points 2 years ago

I suppose I’m still haunted by that one photo of him, I think on some golf day, where he looked like a demented elf. It was going around for a while but I had a hard time finding it last time I looked.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

Nobody REALLY knows. It's never come up before.

The last President to get charged (maybe) was for a speeding ticket, no prison time involved.

[–] buzz86us@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

The world will be a better place.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

Guantanamo sounds good.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Paywalled, but not only is there no Diet Coke, they don't even give you a KFC chicken bucket!

[–] psychothumbs@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

With this site you can always get around the paywall by opening it in a private window.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 7 points 2 years ago

We can build a prison just for him. Or build a new prison for others and put him in an old one. Not really a huge issue.

[–] Furedadmins@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

I'm gonna drink lots of beers and stay out all night!

[–] Izzgo@kbin.social 5 points 2 years ago

Ahhh a girl can dream. But not all dreams come true.
