…she became the first presidential candidate from either party to lose a race to “none of these candidates” since that option was introduced in Nevada in 1975.

"I lost that state"

"Oh, who'd you lose to? Trump?"

"No..."

"Then who? Ryan Binkley??"

How humiliating lol

If she doesn't drop out after this, she's just torpedoing her career.

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What career? She was already functionally retired and she's not getting a cabinet post under the next administration no matter who it is

Good point, she'll just be Fox News correspondent Nikki Haley

[–] SerLava@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

lookin more like CNN at this point

This is funny, but also the delegate system in Nevada doesn't make sense for this to have any relevance. Like, the race that Trump is signed up for is the only way to get delegates in Nevada, and from what I understand you're not allowed to run in both this primary and the GOP-run delegate one.

So does this mean that Nikki Haley is ineligible to gain delegates in Nevada?

Yes, it means she intentionally picked the race that could not contribute to winning the nomination (because she knows there is no way for her to win the nomination, despite the blue dog media trying to wishcast this into a horse race) so she thought she could eke out a nominal victory against trump because he wasn't running in the primary. Instead she got completely washed by trump, yet again.
