got to alluka in the hunter x hunter reread. it's great that one of the most popular shonen manga/anime out there has a whole arc about one of the main characters loving his transgender sister and learning to accept her headmate as his sister as well
it's wild that people go "hmmm. so is she a boy or a girl? she says she's a girl, and so does the only person who loves her. but the rest of her family (who are all incredibly abusive and torture people for fun) says she's a boy, and make a really specific point of doing so. this is a conundrum that i just don't know how to solve!"

i think f1nn5ter doing trap jokes irl and going "AHA, YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A GIRL BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY ME, A MAN!" is not great. i mean, i don't watch his stuff and i assume that isn't all of what he does, but it is at least how he chooses to advertise a lot of his videos*, and it's like. the fundamental premise of his content. i absolutely respect his right to do whatever he wants with his presentation, but i feel like if he were to actually say "ok i'm a woman, she/her, etc" he would lose most of his following. maybe i'm wrong and i'm just bitter, idk

It fucks with me because I’ve never seen a femboy in person and just assume they aren’t real (edit: subconsciously, like obviously they are), so it’s like I’m bi but only for a group of people I’ve never met before

Yeah I think she is a little weirded out but it could just be my own projection. Family is weird cause she's known me my entire life, she's older than I am, and knows me a certain way for sure. I would expect her to be a little weirded out honestly but she is supportive
Am in a Discord Server for local trans ppl, and they are complaining about "Tankies" (they mean the local Trots). Gave some pushback, but was nice about it. One person said that she is a "liberal democratic socalist". Didn't know that this discourse existed IRL.
Update: Was accused of "relativising hundresd of million dead" after saying one should have a nuanced view of the USSR.
Didn't get better after that,should have disengaged at that point. Now I don't know if I actually am welcome on that server anymore.
I came out to my family 4 months ago but can't bring myself to start presenting fem and coming out in other places. I feel like I'm in a tailspin and can't pull out of it.
