The Winnipeg Jets acquired forward Sean Monahan from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

The Canadiens received a 2024 first-round pick and a conditional 2027 third-round pick in exchange.

Monahan, 29, ranks third on the Canadiens with 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) and has appeared in all 49 games this season.

We needed PP help. And faceoffs. And just generally some redundancy in the event of playoff injuries. It's a good move and the price isn't too bad. We will see how he plays.

Good/not so good news.

Makes me wonder how serious Scheifele's injury is (even tho he's expected to return after the break).

To me it almost looked like a hamstring pull or tear when it happened, but I'm not a Dr.

The prob with Monahan, is he's made of glass. Which I hope doesn't come into play down the stretch for you guys. I'm a leafs and Calgary fan, but I mean I'm a friggin Canadian fan when it comes to the playoffs, because it's time that cup comes home (and it sure as shit ain't coming home to Calgary, and I'd probably die of shock if it comes to T.O.).
