Edit: Is it irritating to read multi-page comics as one long strip? I know I can put the pages in the post, but is there a way to let users swipe through multiple pages on Lemmy?

Is it irritating to read multi-page comics as one long strip?

For me, it's great this way. As long as it is a direct image link. That way my browser does the scaling and I can easy zoom in. Some sites (like imgur) prevent you from direcltly opening the image, prevent zooming and even downscale the image to a blurry mess.

It depends on how you're viewing Lemmy, I think. Via an app, like Boost, it's super pixellated. I think if I were viewing via the site on a browser, it'd be fine.

Sync here loads the pic in full res, no pixellation

Depends on the app too, I guess. I should open an issue with the Boost devs.

This one is a blurry mess for me.

I get a good full res pic (using kbin in firefox for android). Maybe it's your client?

Sync on android, idk why it does this then

You need to open the post, then tap the image.

Tapping the thumbnail directly will give you the thumbnail version of the image.

Indeed, thanks !

Thanks to everyone for their responses. It really helps to know this stuff. And it sounds like you helped each other as well. I love when that happens!

Hi there, nice comic! I just wanted to show appreciation for you soliciting and appreciating feedback. That's genuinely decent of you! Please keep being awesome!

I'm not sure I get all the jokes here, but what I do get I very much appreciate. Thank you!

I think the joke is that Satan's cat is just like a regular cat. My cat is exactly like this. I don't have a fancy flail but she goes apeshit for my cheap laser pointer.

[–] Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's hilarious we imagine ALL cats are the same, maybe just different sizes. Is the strong-jawed, jacked Satan who lives in a medieval castle a thing? Or is that just artistic license only for this one strip?

[–] Algaroth@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well, based on how seductive Satan is according to Christianity I don't think drawing him as a muscular yet not threatening man with bisexual vibes is non-canon. I'm no expert. I'm focused on the cat.

So, this strip is the 7th in my comic This is Charcoal. It stars Charcoal, the cat with the brain of a cat and the power of a god, alongside Satan, cosmic cat-dad. It has its own take on Hell and all that, but we haven't seen all the details yet.

Also,

strong-jawed, jacked Satan

muscular yet not threatening man with bisexual vibes

I genuinely thank you both these words. No joke, I have been turning myself inside-out with Satan's design, wondering if others would describe him the way I would. "Maybe he's too femme. Maybe he's not femme enough. Does he need more biceps? WHAT COLOR SHOULD HIS NAIL POLISH BE!?". I finally calmed down.

[–] Cyanogenmon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I actually think your Satan design is really fitting for the context - spot on actually.

Read all 7 and really enjoyed them!

Your Satan is fine. You're doing fine.
