Is this just straight up psychopathy? It seems like maybe she was trying to kill babies off to a bad start, so there's a strange ethic in there. Fucked up person though.

She is still maintaining her innocence so, no.
There will no doubt be some deep dives into her state of mind published eventually. As far as I can tell, the conviction is safe, as in, the evidence is solid that it was more than just a statistical blip, or errors under pressure due to understaffing (which was her all too credible defence).
There's speculation that it was a very extreme form of attention seeking, which started not long after she moved away from her parents, who she was very close to as an only child. Probably a lot more complicated than psychopathy.
