NEW YORK, NEW YORK will play its final performance Sunday, July 30 at 3pm, having played 33 preview and 110 regular performances.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK featured music and lyrics by John Kander & Fred Ebb, a book written by David Thompson, co-written by Sharon Washington, with additional lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman.

Reports that the show has been struggling financially have been floating around for a little while, and unfortunately the show has now signalled its death knell.

New York New York had a reported $27 million capitalisation and a weekly nut (ie operating expenses) of $1.2 million, so it was always going to be an enormous challenge to recoup. Alas that is the nature of producing on Broadway today.
