This is the only way to reconcile the two different strains of brainworms inhabiting my boomer coworker's head. On the one hand, she comes from a family Republican cops and was excited to see the rise of Trump. On the other hand, she has an obsession with anybody named Kennedy just like everyone else from the Northeast over the age of 60. This is the synthesis she needs.

After JFK’s head did that, Americans have this god like reverence for anybody whose name ends in -FK. The lack of materialism leads them to believe that the Kennedy family is full of rebels who will expose the deep state just because one of them flew too close to the sun lol. It doesn’t help that all the Kennedy’s after JFK and RFK are useless human beings who ride the coattails of their dead grandpa or whatever instead of creating their own legacy.

Well, if I can't live in a just world, I'll be OK with settling for a funny one.

But he was supposed to bring JFK Jr. out of hiding pretending he died.

They mixed up a J for an R. Somebody spilled mayo on the proofs and smudged them a bit.

Genuinely brilliant move

Biden is going to get absolutely stomped in this election

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We'll see. He's got an enormous headwind and he's not nearly as popular in the Midwest as he was in 2016.

They're both deeply unappealing candidates with these deranged bases of support.

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

When was the last time there was an actually appealing candidate on the final ticket?

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Obama 2008. And even then, only appealing to the segment of the population not biting through its own tongue trying not to say the N-word.

Also - and, admittedly, this was just during the primary - but I'm going to take a bold position and say I found Bernie Sanders appealing.

I’m old enough to remember Fox trying to convince the public that he is a “dEmOcRaT”

I remember him running in 2000 with universal healthcare as a main plank. Trump's been known as the village racist in NYC for decades though

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 16 points 2 years ago

oh my god thats mind-crunchingly hilarous!

QUICK BIDEN! MAKE THE SAME OFFER!

Make the election a hundred times funnier by making a fucking kennedy the kingmaker!

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago

That would be a damn good move with how popular RFK is with non-affiliated voters and Right-Wingers. I know people people who hate Trump but like RFK for whatever reason.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Biden should choose Mike Pence as VP for retaliation

[–] 0x0520@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

Alternatively, I have an idea to address the age thing AND make sure She gets Her turn.

Would honestly work, apparently the RFK Jr. guy was polling at over 10% nationally at one point. The power of a surname folks. And terrible pop history about JFK.

[–] Lovely_sombrero@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This would be quite funny. Also, Haley would be a better VP pick.

[–] jonne 10 points 2 years ago

I'm ok with either of them having a hit put out on them by Trump.

[–] Biggay@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

Haley wouldnt take it imo because most of her fanbase comes from not being Trump. She has more to lose and less to gain unless Trump dies, which isnt non-zero but damn she'd be essentially out of politics for 4 years if he didnt.

[–] ComRed2@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

Lol, but also, to a lesser extent, lmao.

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

Nonsense. It's clearly a kakistocracy

[–] VapeNoir@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

The House of Kennedy has failed to return America to the Holy Mother Church. We must all become Brandonites now.

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

oh cool, two corpses instead of just one!

[–] frogbellyratbone_@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

isn't RFK running third party and the republicans are scared of him pulling votes?

i don't think he'll be VP but that would solve that dilemma

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

The orange duo.
