The whole concept of numbered sick days is insane to begin with, and I'm glad my country doesn't have those. If you're sick, you're sick, and you stay at home until you're better. Making people work while they're not up to it, will only cost more money in the long run.
In this case, especially, it will cost them more to constantly be hiring new employees, rather than making the existing ones happier so that they don't want to leave.
