Recently hopped over to Lemmy from Reddit, initially tried Boost and the web app and wasn't super happy with the experience however after installing Singing I can happily say the experience has improved vastly. It feels more promising and premium than the actual official Reddit app!

Yup I also ended up on sync. Seems to be the best.

I used it for reddit and I'm using it here, my favorite app for sure!

I thought I'd mention that - if you haven't found it already - there's a bunch more post view options if you switch to Cards or Slides. (It took me forever to figure out how to change my text sizes and stuff because I usually switch to Smaller Cards or Compact right away - during the install wizard dealie, so before you would get to see all the options available in those 2 views.)

But, if you've already found that stuff, or you guys use slides and found it immediately... then I guess disregard this comment and have a lovely rest of your day/night cycle!

What didn't you like about Boost?

[โ€“] alice_mac@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The UI/UX just didn't appeal, I'm sure it's a great app Sync just feels much more fluid and inviting from the get go.

Interesting. I liked Sync ok, but Boost just felt faster and cleaner to me.

Weird Sync feels lightning quick.

same here! I just can't with any other client. They don't fit my needs. I put off installing Sync because of the low rating on Google Play but now I downloaded it and OMG I AM IN LOVE!

Jerboa or web browser for the win ๐Ÿ˜Ž.
Btw jerboa is dev by lemmy's des.

Jerboa was good for that first month when there wasn't any other good options. In 2024 it is far surpassed by most other apps.

Surpassed in what ? Some examples maybe ? I don't need a v8 to browse forums ^^"

Old style I guess,

The web UI just makes me want to cry, it's really awful to look at.

Unfortunately I think it will deter a lot of users.

[โ€“] writeblankspace@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

well not everyone's a fan of Jerboa's UI...

Well voyager is still existing,
why pay for a reddit app when the project is foss (Lemmy).
Free software are politics too in a way,

Meditate,
