Philip Agee, born on 19th of january in 1935, was an ex-CIA officer who became a prominent critic of CIA policies, detailing his experiences in the text "Inside the Company: CIA Diary". Agee ultimately defected to Cuba, dying there in 2008.

Philip Agee (1935 - 2008) served as a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer for eight years, joining the organization in 1960. He was assigned posts in Montevideo, Mexico City, and Quito, Ecuador.

Agee resigned from the CIA in 1968 following the Tlatelolco massacre in Mexico City, in which the U.S.-supported government engaged in mass shootings and arrests of a crowd of more than ten thousand protesters. The same massacre also played a role in the political radicalization of Subcomandante Marcos of the Zapatistas.

Agee moved to London and published "Inside the Company", a tell-all text that, among other things, detailed his work in spying on diplomats, engaging in illegal activity to force a diplomatic break between Ecuador and Cuba, naming President José Figueres Ferrer of Costa Rica, President Luis Echeverría Álvarez of Mexico, and President Alfonso López Michelsen of Colombia as CIA collaborators, and exposing the identities of dozens of CIA agents.

For the exposure of agents, Agee was expelled from the United Kingdom. Agee was also eventually expelled from the Netherlands, France, West Germany and Italy, and was compelled to live under a series of socialist governments - Grenada under Maurice Bishop, then Nicaragua under the Sandinistas, and finally Cuba under Castro. Agee died in Cuba in January 2008.

"I don't think we have ever had real democracy in this country. Anyone who studies adoption of the constitution will understand quite clearly that; democracy - as we understand that on today; was the last thing the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the constitution....it was: to establish strong central authority responding the elitist interests in United States.

That's private property. And those men who wrote the constitution were representatives of the elites. They were the lawyers, bankers, merchants, the land owners, slave owners and so forth. And they write the constitution for their own private interest$. That is how government has served ever since. And that is why we have so little democracy in United States."

can somebody recommend software for a graphics tablet? I need it for taking notes and doodling. OneNote seems pretty good but I don't really want to bother with trying to crack it

So I might be thinking too lofty, but my friends and I have a goal for what we feel could be a very sustainable project locally. We have many different “connections” at our disposal (I hate that fucking word) which will aid in creating a socialist network within capitalism.

Is there something I’m missing here? Why wouldn’t something like this be possible? Because while this shit definitely isn’t scalable, what’s wrong with getting something mutual to help/support people you know (using pooled resources) instead of behaving like the other local org which texts people to VOTE

Indiana Jones game looks decent, but I'm sure Bethesda will fuck this up somehow.

From having just opened the game "Sovereign Syndicate" is a game where one of the player characters is a minotaur in a top hat called Atticus who travels around London looking for heroin. It can only disappoint from now on tbh.

I've been watching a lot of videos about Star Citizen, it looks pretty neat despite all the bugs. But I can't help but think the universe is this ancap utopia where everyone owns their own ship and does whatever work they want, instead of what it'd be in reality where the corporate factions would own your ship and you'd need to pay them rent to keep the oxygen and engines working. You wouldn't get to pick your own jobs you'd just have to do the most tedious bullshit for no good pay and the only players having fun would be pirates. And even then the hierarchies on the larger pirate crews would resemble the corporate structure and suck for the pirates at the bottom of the pyramid. I would probably buy the game if they just let you be a space janitor like in Space Station 13.

Trying to decide if tarkov is enjoyable or not. The wandering around part is fun. The getting ohk'd constantly and never surviving a raid part is not. I'm comparing it to Hunt, which is a much better crafted game, as opposed to Tarkov's superficially sim but actually quite silly gameplay.

Like hunt's levels are designed so that players organically converge for firefights. Weapons balance is chefs-kiss. Old timey guns mean you rarely get ohk'd and usually can have a firefight. Permadeath for characters gives it stakes but all weapons being unlocked means everyone is on equal footing.

Basically none of this applies to Tarkov. There is no balance. The more you play the more massive advantages you rack up. The way armor, guns, and ammo work means some players have vastly more survivability than others. In the last, idk, 15 games i've been killed instantly, mostly by players I never saw.

Peggy deserves crit for collaborating with Kanye for sure, but discourse brain is such a fucking annoying thing. people posting his lyrics without context to be like "lel, u snobs actually thought THIS was better than MAINSTREAM rap??????" completely ignoring that the dude has always been a producer first and that there's other shit like flow and intensity of vocal performance beyond lyrics. idk. the internet is such a bummer man. but yeah JPEG should def tell Kanye to fuck off - semi-major celebrity's politics are secondary to their career ambitions, big surprise
