Oh gods, that reminds me of Ben Carson. Incredibly brilliant neurosurgeon who IIRC invented new techniques, but also believed the pyramids were biblical grain silos. Some people are just intelligent/empathetic in extremely different and weird ways.
I've said before that doctors are the engineers of the human body, and Ben Carson is my go-to example of what that means.
