If you’re smart enough to question your own intelligence you’re better off than most.

Not much room for brains when you need to store all that piss.

Wrong. If you're ever having a bad day remember what Marx said "le sigh, we cringe on"

17,000 people died because they listened to Donald Trump's medical advice.

You aren't the stupidest person in the world.

Donnie actually told his followers to get the jab, they booed him. I'm convinced a solid 80-90% of CHUDs would still be anti-vax even if Trump never existed.

It's kind of a chicken/egg deal. What if he'd pushed the quarantine from the start? Deferred to Fauci and kept his mouth shut? I tghink they would ahve fallen in line. It's kind of like when Shatner told the Trekkies to get a life. They still loved him, and stuck with the show.

Conspiracy quackery was already on the rise before Trump. Again I don't think his base are actually that loyal to him, just the image of him. They ignore things he says and does that they don't like, Trump could say "trans rights" and they'd just ignore him and keep ranting about groomers.

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” ― Isaac Asimov

I don't know when he said that. The other quote to remember is when political candidate Ronald Reagan said that government was the problem. The Right/GOP has a long history of steering people away from critical thinking and towards emotional reactions.

I honestly don't know what the MAGoos will do if Trump abandons them.

I honestly don't know what the MAGoos will do if Trump abandons them.

They'd just keep rolling along, either deifying trump and saying this "new" Trump is an imposter or finding some other figurehead. The US has always had a regressive right element, Trump was just at the right place and right time to rally them. Trump isn't some sorcerer who brainwashed what we're before a bunch of reasonable moderate republicans. If Trump did not exist the US right would have to create one.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not a sorcerer, just the guy who was willing to say out loud what the others dog whistled. Even holy roller Mitt Romney was willing to make a little, highly coded Birther joke about Obama. [I don't need a passport to come to Michigan.]

I always use this analogy. Nixon = beer. Reagan = grain punch. Bush Jr. = whiskey. Trump = meth.

Yeah but again, if it weren't Trump so other dork would be filling that role. Libs think Trump is some linchpin when really he's just what rose to the top of an already frothing caldron.

If you're Dumb I'm Dumber. Let's drive a van that looks like a dog and/or a minibike halfway across the USA.

Did you accidentally try to use aftershave as mouthwash again?

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

one time as a kid my eye was real red and sore after waking up and i'd never used eye drops

my dad held me down and proceeded to put ear drops in my eyes because he didn't read the package properly

Going to the optometrist and being like, "you wanna know how I got these scars?" when they look at your cornea

Self criticism is only worthwhile if it’s over things you can control.

Because you're not currently watching one piece
