[off topic] If you like Star Trek TOS, look up writer Poul Anderson. Anderson was the master of creating new worlds and populating them with alien races. "Ensign Flandry' is about the adventures of a young nobleman in the last days of the Terran Empire. 'Trader To The Stars' is about a fat, horny, and corrupt business man whose work takes him to the edge of the Galaxy. 'A Midsummer's Tempest' is a fantasy novel set in a world where William Shakespeare was the greatest historian who ever lived; everything he wrote about was 100% fact, including Titania and Oberon, and the clocks of Rome.
