As always: pics or it didn't happen.

Just as lazy fun speculation, what implications would there be if there was something to this story? Posadist memes aside. I love brainstorming speculative scifi about this stuff as a writing exercise.

One of the fun theories I read once is that the UFO are drones from a long dead society.

If Douglas Adams had the lathe, it'd be something out of the Hitchhiker's guide. Like all of them drones that were originally intended to provide towels on interstellar cruises, and as soon as we invent FTL they're gonna suddenly go active and visible and pierce the hull of the first ships pushing towels in the face of the poor astronauts.

That's an angle that's interesting to explore. Maybe include in it clues that hint at the society's demise, with a hint of veiled contemporary social commentary.

Idk but Tucker has been talking about how UFOs are demons and angels and I'm scared

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Me a baby: Aliens are demons and hell is real.

Me an adult: Aliens are comrades and transcend mankind's understanding of the universe.

Me, an entity that is inexorably reformed on every world in every dimension as a warning: We can be the aliens. We can bring clarity and peace to ten thousand worlds.

That's another way to look at it in scifi: How an star-faring civilization achieves communism in its lore. Hints at hinge points in its history that went differently than it's earth parallels and just how material conditions may have been more conducive to the success of its own communist movement.

I automatically lose respect for any rube who thinks any of this “ufo disclosure” shit is real

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

I understand completely. I felt the exact same way until someone on twitter (@conzmoleman) dared me to read Stanton Friedman's book last year.

There’s a book and a subsequent documentary called Mirage Men about UFO disinformation and the abuses behind it. Personally, I’m gonna start with that because I think the name is cooler lol

I think UFOs/aliens are probably real but not what the government/media puts out

the UFO posts I've seen on reddit almost make me feel like there's a psyop against UFOs. There was some ridiculous Mexican hoax that went viral on reddit, as well as a video of a bird shit stain (a few days ago)

it's almost like they're trying to discredit UFOs as not being real
I think TPTB are smart enough to know that people don't trust them, so they'll play crap like this (pretending UFOs are real when they're indeed actually real, but ofc leaving out vital info and even seeding their stories with fake info so that you cant ascertain the truth by either accepting or 100% rejecting their position)

I think aliens are real too, but there’s absolutely no way anything otherworldly and high tech will be talked about publicly like this. Especially in this piecemeal weekly drama episode bullshit being retold by congresspeople of all people lol.

There’s no reason for a limited hangout right now since “UFO researchers” or “UFO leaks” are all fringe / spectacle and don’t affect the government’s operations. This is just pure distraction psyop.

If some alien was captured in Nebraska or Siberia and broadcasted everywhere, THEN I would believe these disclosures as limited hangout.

See the other reply to my OP. There are some books that talk about the government’s involvement with pushing UFO stories for various reasons.

It's weird how UFO/UAPs have like "evolved" over the years, from the 50's flying saucer to whatever the fuck they are today, floating Evangelion triangles.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 21 points 2 years ago

The UFO's take the shape of technology humans can understand. In ancient times they were flaming chariots. On Gilligan's Island they were made of coconuts. Dogs see them as a floating version of the loveseat they are forbidden to climb on after they puked on it.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

As technology evolves, people have more vivid imaginations. Back then vehicles were round and relatively simple looking, so you can only create a hoax based on that.

Or maybe aliens just evolved alongside us and ditched their reliable, invincible bell UFOs because they fell for the marketing for the Xenu Motors Silverado FTL Model
