Thats a good reason to join an org. Why do you think we call each other comrade?
I met my my current longterm partner in an organising space, I didn't really have a lot of social connections after I came out, and now all of my closest friends are my dearest and most trustworthy comrades
just dont be a weirdo about it, I definitely have met my share of creeps in organising spaces

Whenever I'm feeling doomer I force myself to engage with the unhoused to remind myself of my privilege and position to affect change, however miniscule. Improving another surviving human's material conditions, however modestly, is infinitely nourishing to my sense of purpose and motivates me to get involved again. Also unhoused people are often cool as fuck.
You can't tell me what to do.
