The people with the power to guide us there don’t seem particularly interested.
I’m not sure myself whom they might even be? Polticians, businesses, environmentalists might be part of them but I don’t think there is an easy answer. Also, this report is mainly a resource analysis; not necessarily political.
The people with the power and minerals are scattered over continents, fractions, and unstable Gvements. It will take the cooperation of a great part of the planet.
I'm personally not saying it's impossible, but as he puts it, it does seem unlikely. Geopolitical developments, new technologies, and democratic/political will could lead to more favourable outcomes.
Then again if populations world wide keep growing and energy usage as well, it will be very hard to keep the energy supply in line with demand.
The road ahead is very difficult.
Net-zero based on current technologies and in our current political and economic climate always seemed like a pipedream to me. Even Amazon now cancelled their previously announced plans.
