I want to support nascent communities and enrich my subscriptions!

Drop below your communities, already existing or even that you would like to see at some point! ๐Ÿ‘‡

I'll also shamelessly promote a community that I'd love to see grow: !aphantasia@lemmy.world

Something like r/sysadmin and r/networking. A place to discuss widespread outages would be nice.

Neuropsychology and philosophy discussions. Ask-science -type groups like whatisthisbug and Geology.

Anything based on sharing meaningful discussions. As opposed to memes and song-lyric-threads.

[โ€“] skullvalanche@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I'm pretty sure there's https://lemmy.world/c/sysadmin already. :)

[โ€“] ndr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

ooh I would be down to contributing to something like neuropsychology and ask-science communities!

[โ€“] Xaphanos@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I'd like to set up communities for my small suburban town and county. Maybe next week...

[โ€“] curlygirl@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I created !curlyhair@lemmy.world for discussion about all things curly hair. Also if you haven't seen it there is !newcommunities@lemmy.world where everyone can post the new community they created.

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Everytime I tap a community from newcommunities I get a crash with the Jeroba app lol.

[โ€“] curlygirl@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I also use jerboa and haven't figured out why it crashes, it depends on the url the person posted. My urls I just linked open the browser, idk why x.x at least it doesn't crash

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You are right, there it does not crash, but I still can't subscribe there... I don't understand why it doesn't detects my lemmy.fmhy.ml account.

[โ€“] curlygirl@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

It's an issue on github at least so it is being looked into.

[โ€“] ndr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

But I wanted a discussion where people would also post communities that haven't been created yet!

[โ€“] curlygirl@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sorry I hope I wasn't de-railing.

[โ€“] ndr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

No, no problem at all! All these comments are great.

[โ€“] izax@pawb.social 2 points 2 years ago

Don't forget you can also follow communities on other instances too! If you put something like !Videos@sopuli.xyz into your search box (it can be buggy sometimes, give it a few minutes and retry). It should also already show up if someone else did that already.

[โ€“] calhoon2005@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I'd love to see a Minecraft Builds type community.

[โ€“] skullvalanche@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

I just created !nyto@lemmy.world ... which hopefully someday will be useful/amusing.

[โ€“] skullvalanche@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

uh... how do I make a link to another community?

[โ€“] pampoon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You have it right, just have to give it a few seconds when you start typing and you should get a drop-down list of options to pick which auto fills the link for you.

[โ€“] skullvalanche@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

ah! that's what I was missing, the patience part of the equation! ๐Ÿคฃ

[โ€“] beaubbe@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I loved the northernlion and nlsscirclejerk subreddits but so far I have not seen anything.

[โ€“] slashzero@hakbox.social 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)
  • wow (World of Warcraft)
  • wownoob
  • worldofpvp

Alternatively does anyone know of an instance that focuses on gaming?

Oh my, the downvote brigade has arrived from Reddit. Forgive me for answering a question about what communities I would personally like to see.

[โ€“] ndr@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I've also just created !askbiologists !askbiologists@lemmy.world if anyone is interested!

r/Roast me. I'm doubtful that will happen here.
