The film was shot in Winterset and Adel, both in Iowa. I'm curious if the farmhouse still exists, or if maybe it's been turned to a museum due to the 1995 movie.

Or maybe it's still inhabited?

I believe it does! Although I see it was damaged in 2003 because of arsen. Article

Fun (sad) facts, quite of few of the bridges have been burned because of some pissed off lover who carved their names into it decided the best thing to do post breakup was to burn the fucking bridges. It's a shame in Madison county that it keeps happening.

More fun fact, I know this because I grew up 5 miles away from them! Apparently my dad took me to see Clint Eastwood when they filmed, but I have no memory of that.

These cases should get an extra punishment. A petty extra. you destroyed public property out of petty feelings, petty extra, especially if there was alternative easier and less damaging way to satisfy the petty feelings.
