I liked how Neopets let you learn a lot with a fake currency just earnt from mini-games.

So like you could learn a lot about how auctions work, but without risking your real money.

I learnt the basics of hacking video games by hacking the minigames to win much faster.

I guess the closest thing nowadays would be Roblox, but it's a shame how it's all tied to real money transactions.

One of the games was a “hide the marble under one of three cups, follow the cup, then guess where it is” thing. On the highest difficulty it would give very high rewards but it was almost impossible to follow.

However, I used to play on a school computer that was ancient. It couldn’t play the flash animation at full speed, so I would watch it slowly move the cups around, easily follow, and get it right every time. When playing at home I would lose, but at school I nailed it.

The commercialization of everything does suck. Things aren't as much for fun as they used to be on the internet.

Roblox would have been such a great and wonderful game.. if it just weren't so terribly exploitative of kids for their own commercial gain.

Hype, venture capital, overvalued IPO, and anyone who buys the stock will be a bag holder.
