I love this story but why is it collapse related?
Collapse

This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.
Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

Collapse is the result of overshooting the ecosystem carrying capacity. 8 billion people exist because of fossil fuels. Now we are running out of them while degrading our environment which is causing global harvest failures.
We are a lot like these deer.
It was interesting to notice that the overshoot has just made three population fragile. They were almost killed by "category 3 hurricane strength" winds and a -75°F extreme weather event.
This is an infamous overshoot story. It's nice to see more details than "population bad!!".
