I found rebinding the controls helps massively, the defaults are really bad. Jump = A, Attack = right trigger, dash = left trigger. Once I got used to this layout the game became much easier, this is also very necessary for pogoing without wanting to break the controller.

Thanks. I may try this again. I am truly awful at platformers, which hurts since I'm obsessed with bugs.

It's admittedly an incredibly hard game and the platforming is unforgiving. Its up there with sekiro for how much focus i need to play.
